Great Times

Great Times

(Mallorca II)

We celebrated Dave Hawkin's birthday last week.  Sylvia Deschamps baked a PERFECT birthday cake.  It would make Cheesecake Factory jealous.  Since it is almost impossible to get a good cheesecake in Spain, we were all salivating.

Especially Dave.
In fact, we almost had to fight him for a piece,
Yumm!
Gloria was there to put an extra big smile on my face.  How I love this woman!

And then .....  we made another really fun trip to Mallorca.  Sylvia managed to find us a $25 fare to Mallorca, and the Waites, Deschamps, and Hawkins were off in a flash.  Mallorca is an island in the Mediterranean and only a one and a half hour flight.  We had a great time when we visited in January, so everyone was excited to go again.  We weren't excited about getting up in the middle of the night to make our flight, coming and going.  But it was all worth it.

Sylvia is a great bargain hunter and also got us a great deal on a hotel.  I know I always say this,
but Spain is a real bargain, or we would never be able to travel as often as we do.
Last time sunburn was not a concern, but this time the sun we shining.
There were a lot of people taking advantage of the beautiful weather.

We were scrambling for hats.
Finding a hat was easy.  Keeping it on was not.
A lot of sail boats were out.

The countryside was so green and beautiful.
Spain is littered with modern art.

The water was so beautiful! I had no idea
there were that many shades of blue.

I couldn't keep my hat on, so Greg traded with me.

Local traffic.
Castles everywhere.

The castle restaurant.
Their specialty.

The river running into the sea.

Our companions are big sea glass collectors.  So we stopped at
plenty of beaches to see what we could find.

Greg and I didn't find a lot of glass, so I was fascinated with the water.

One of the stranger statues I saw.

This was the prettiest beach.  I had so many colors.

Pink sand.

X marks the spot. (in the sky)

A couple of cute guys walking the line.

This was a beautiful and spirited horse.
Now this is a very old olive tree.
Another very cool castle, with an even cooler wall.

Wild flowers everywhere!

The church tower used to be an Arab minaret calling people to prayer.

Chickens grazing in the round-about.

A beautiful tall ship.

Everyone busy looking for sea glass.
I finally got my feet wet.

Success!

What a great time we had!

PS.  I got the flu,  putting a rough end to a great time.  Still worth it.
