Belen of Trujillo

BELEN  OF TRUJILLO

A private gentleman had his home open to the public to see his amazing Belen.  It was so good that I am preparing a separate blog for it.  The Belen was upstairs, and downstairs he had this beautiful display of costumes from early times. He opened his home free of charge, but there was a basket for contributions.  I usually ignore those baskets, but this time I felt compelled to donate.  It was so fantastic, and so beautifully displayed.

They had all kinds of sound effects, such as barking dogs, birds, water, weather etc.
Most of the scenes had animated characters.  They were fishing,
cooking, playing cards, gardening, laundry, shopping etc.

They told the entire Christmas story from the angel's visit to Mary ....

... the angel's visit to Joseph ...

... the trip to Bethlehem, a search for an Inn .....
... no room in the Inn ...
... the trip of the Three Kings ...

... the birth, and visit by the Wisemen ....
... the flight into Egypt ...

... and Herrod's terror.

Joseph's carpenter shop.

They involved the Roman aqueduct, the Roman bridge, windmills,
and other famous local landmarks.

Beating the olives off the tree.

Having a special spot in my heart for nativities, this was very inspirational,
and was a great ending to a wonderful trip.
