Burgo De Osma

A month or so ago we had a really fun weekend with the Hawkins.   We went to Burgo De Osma, then Rio Lobos (a national park) and then ended up in Burgos.  This blog is about Burgo De Osma. It is a very cute walled city, of course.  It is about 3 hours north of Madrid.
This is a ruined castle just outside of Burgo De Osma.
Sunflower farms cover this part of the country.

City Walls

More storks nests

We happened get there in time for this festival.

The very cool hotel we stayed in.  It was built into the city wall.

Our balconies overlooked the town square.

An example of very short doors for very short people.

Apparently this festival used to involve the giant characters.

This city reminded me a lot of villages in England.

The church

If you look close can you see a little bird family living on the church facade.

Someone had a sense of humor.  I don't think the Saints are laughing, though.

A gateway into the city.

People dancing in the streets as part of the festival.

It was a great evening, a very cute town, a great hotel, and great entertainment.
